Working On the Weekend

While there are times when being the military it seems when state-side we have lots of time off. We are also salary workers. Which is why I am at work today. The actual item that brought me in, it seems from my point of view, shouldn't have responded me to come in. (That probably doesn't make sense.) Because of my job and title, some people feel the need to talk to me. It usually doesn't solve anything and the resulting call that I have to make could have been done by the guy who called me. Well, it didn't turn out that way so here I am, at work.

As soon as it looks like this issue gets resolved I am definitely going for a beer.

Pet Peeve #23

It just irks to me to no end when someone inappropriately uses an "s" at the end of their word or words when speaking. Are there any adults that fucking graduate high school anymore?

There are several words in the English language that are already plural with the addition of certain words preceding it.

There is no need to add a fucking "s" at the end of the word that is already plural.

So quit fucking doing it!

Here is the funny part of the day, I was told that I come off as a chipper young lad.

Let that soak in for a moment.

Okay, that person doesn't really know crap. And who the fuck uses the word "chipper"?

Alpha Males Running Rampant

Wouldn't you know it, the first thing I did when I got to the head doctors office is get into a "who's dick is bigger" contest.

I was immediately pissed off at this point in time. Then the HM1 a the front desk said this schmuck would be part of my evaluation. I then promptly said fuck you, and my afternoon went way better after that.

Needless to say, they did some switching around and I did my evaluation with some other people. I have to call back tomorrow with my decision to do:

a) nothing.

b) see a counselor off the books. (Requires extra driving on my part.)

c) see a licensed clinical practitioner either:

i) on base, on the record. (Able to give Meds.)

ii) off base, on the record. (Able to give Meds.)

iii)off base, off the record. ( Kind of a big shoulder, but closer to home.)

Who knew I would have all these decisions to make?

Head Doctor

Four out of five people I talked to today when I mentioned I was going to see a head doctor automatically assumed it was a neurologist.

Nine out of ten people on the internet or via email thought I was going to see a psychologist.

People, Places and Things

My interaction with people as of late, has been marginal at best. I am starting to get back into my bad habits; not necessarily because I want to, but because it is easy.
The house that I am in a contract for has at least two more weeks of repairs, which in turn means I have at least two weeks more with the rental situation.
The doctors have given me a prescription of Celebrex, does nothing for the pain, stops me from taking aspirin, and have AmbienCR which helps me sleep in four hour blocks.

I rely on the prayer of others.

While it seems from time to time that I rant about things that seem like childish behavior, it is no different from the many rants about whatever floats people boat for that day. It could be:

Almost every discussion on the internet revolves around those magic four topics. There are few exceptions.

In my previous post, I did not call anyone names. I did not throw sticks and I did not throw a single rock. But the outrage of naming a few websites warranted 14 lengthy comments and the post before that, which was really the important one to me, got 9.

I would like to believe that I am a pretty good human when it comes to my adolescence.

I have my flaws. I have my personal guilt. I am not better than you.

I am me.

Dreams

I haven't had a dream in a long long time. My favorite dreams include large bountiful breasts that are silky soft against my head and body. Has not been the case as of late. I have been sleeping in a very irregular pattern. I sleep for at most three hours at time and it usually from exhaustion. I was supposed to get AmbienCR, which is a sleep aid, but the paperwork shuffle is delaying that. I once had a dream where I swear I could feel the heart of another as it put me in a deeper sleep. Crazy as it may sound but up until I was hurt, my best sleep and dreams were the ten months before it while in Al Asad. The medications(drugs) that I took initially for this ailment gave me very vivid dreams with bright colors, but the side effect was hallucinations while awake that sometimes made life a little confusing. Now, the drugs I take do not help me sleep and the pain won't help me out either. There have been a few days that I cannot tell when I am awake. I am not trying to scare you. I am not looking for pity or grief. I am telling you how it is. I long for a dream, any dream.

Have you ever wondered why the flag of the United States of America is folded 13 times when it is lowered or when it is folded and handed to the widow at the burial of a veteran? Here is the meaning of each of those folds and what it means:

The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.

The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world.

Rainy Day, Part II

I really could write a part four hundred and twenty two on the rain season here. How does that phrase go, something like April showers bring May flowers. Well, it should be April showers bring fucking humidity.

I am so glad I put RainX on my windshield this weekend. The difference that makes is like buying a box of Freedom and get it. Always with wings lets you fly. Or maybe I have no fucking clue what I am talking about since I am cooped inside from the fucking rain.

A few years(okay it was a decade) ago I was stationed at Cherry Point and you could literally set your watch to the rain. Here you can't do that but you could easily put your money on the PASS line.

Okay, I am done.

Visiting

This weekend I visited RevAnne and her husband. They are located about an hour and half away from me and Saturday was a good day to take a drive. Again, I have no pictures to share. I had a good time and will have to look into going back again some other time.

Also, today I met with friend that I haven't seen in eight years. Now, that is just wacky. I thought it was longer but was immediately corrected. Her kids happen to be my God-kids. Which is grand in itself.

I have a MP3/4 player, it was a gift, I never use it.
I read this wrong the first time, yes, I have a record player that plays 33s and 78s, I also have a tape deck for my stereo and an eight-track player. I use them often.

4. Do you find the rapid change in our world exciting, scary, a mix...or something
else?
The US is in its own little world so it is hard to answer this question- scary.

5. What did our forebears have that we have lost and you'd like to regain? Bonus
points if you have a suggestion of how to begin that process.
