To See the Bunnies

Today I have a lunch date at a"gentleman's" club. I am going to Toby's.
(It is not the high dollar type place. We are in the armpit of the universe here in Jax, NC. )

Today there is no cover, so we are starting off on the right track. (Ten bucks, five if you are a member) (No, I am not a member)

The place is across the street from the air station, on the Hwy 17. There are several bars in the same area: 100 proof club next to it, then south is Flanagan's and little more south is Rena J's. ( I threw in this info for those that get lost.)

Tragedy

The hero always dies. The good always die young. And there is no more innocents.

I wish for a romance, I do. I want to rescue that damsel in distress and lift to her feet and give her that magic kiss that will be the beginning of the relationship that will end all relationships. One that will be written about and sought after by many for this one is different, this one will be the true love, a love that could defy death, a love that is stronger than the universe itself.

But I live in reality, and tragedy is part of it. So love is not.

The Hunter or The Hunted

I was thinking about tracking cookies and how each blogger that I know gets addicted to see where everyone is from. In case you all didn't know I came from my Mom.
I use a few different means to track the people that come here:

Technorati
PR.8RF
StatCounter
The Truth Laid Bear
SiteMeter
NeoWORX
MyBlogLog
and
Haloscan (which is also my commenting host)

All offer something different and here is the best part all are FREE. With Haloscan I am able to track by month how many comments I receive which is how I can tell you who gave what number comment. (I do donate to Haloscan but I think it is worth the addiction.)

Some of the embed text works both ways and helps other people track me as I have tracked them, so I chalk this up to the thrill of the chase.

Pop-up Commenting

I have been told by several people that they have a hard time commenting on my site due to my pop-up browser for commenting. Haloscan has actually fixed this for me quite some time ago, but I failed to mention it to anyone. If you are one of the unfortunate few that have this problem, click on the title of the post you want to comment on. The comment box will be part of the page that reloads with the post. Now, you can comment without worrying about a pop-up box. Yea!

RevGals Friday Five: Good Friday

RevHRod of RevGals writes todays Friday Five:

1) Our prayer concerns are as varied as we are this day. For whom would you like us to pray?
All service members

2) Are there things you have done or will do today to help the young ones understand this important day in our lives?
There are no young ones for me to teach today.

3) Music plays an important part in sharing the story of this day. Is there a hymn or piece of music that you have found particularly meaningful to your celebrations of Good Friday?
I am sure everyone states "Were you there" It is only piece that I can remember from my childhood that was ever special for today.

4) As you hear the passion narrative, is there a character that you particularly resonate with?
Pontius Pilate

5) Where have you seen the gracious God of love at work lately?
Sorry, I will have to reserve my right to comment later.

Shopping and Bunnies

I really need to go shopping.

REALLY NEED

I need new clothes, military and civilian; stuff for my truck, like seat covers(so other people don't fuck up my insides for me), toolbox, a sun or moon visor or something like that; "smell good" or "sure fuck"; hygiene stuff like alcohol (for my razor), new tooth brush would be nice, maybe a toilet cozy.

The main thing is I need clothes and I can admit it, I suck at shopping for myself in the clothes department. So I tend to not go and stay in a different decade as everyone else. I know that if I feel the need to buy pants I have to ask a woman if my ass looks good or not in them. (Took me years to figure that one out.)

Enough about shopping, the other part of this post is the bunnies.
I have no plans for the weekend. So what does a "normal" single man do?
I plan on seeing bunnies at the bar.
Some people see elephants, I plan on seeing bunnies.

Another Good Article From Colonel North

Here is the link:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,340048,00.html

Please read it.

Some important excerpts:
"... reenlistments have never been higher and every service is exceeding its recruiting goals. "

"Since 2004, more than 4,000 civil reconstruction projects, including 325 for electrical distribution and 320 water treatment facilities have been completed. More than 3,000 schools and 75 hospitals, clinics and health care facilities have been renovated or built from the ground up while nearly 3,200 primary health care providers and physicians were being trained "

My Opinions Don't Matter

There have several websites that have been stopping me from commenting on their sites. Apparently I struck a nerve or they don't like me.

Jonestown and Mock, Paper, Scissors both have stopped my comments from posting on their respective blogs. Jonestown stopped linking to me awhile ago.

Got to love hate.

**UPDATE 2216**
I may give Jonestown and MPS a second chance. Life is all about second chances.

Slow Mustangs

It just really pisses me off when you're driving along and you're moving at a decent pace, when you come up to a someone in a sports car who is going slow. What is the point of having a fast car if you don't go fast in it?

What is Black and White and Read All Over?

While being extremely busy at work I happened upon this page on the internet:

I think it is nifty.

Five years of Iraq

I am not going to give you all a watered down verson of something I have either said or have posted before. I will however post two links of what and why, we do what we do:

The Only Exit Strategy

Analogy To Share

If you read one, then you should read both. I know both are a little long, but the point is made well.

MALS 29 Tee

I had made up this tee when I went on leave and had given one to my Mom and the other to a friend. Apparently, the design is well liked so here is a link if you would like one of your own.

Shift Change

I seem ill fated to get a sun tan or maybe you could look at it as I have no tan lines. I am working nights again and I am doing a similar job that I was doing while in AA.

So if I do talk to you in the near future I most likely will talk a lot because I am in an office by myself for a few days.

The Power of Butter

Now that some of you that have been reading me feel that I have left reality for something simpler in life, know this, I love to let my mind slip through all the channels of reality. (Just sometimes I am not ready to debate it.) The below post has seemed to confused several onlookers of this blog and want me to explain myself further. Well, I will not. I have fully explained the below situation and everything that it says is a true fact. Also, it appears that my titles have confounded several others as well. The titles while seemingly not related are actually a well rounded thesis statement.

Sharp as Tack

While perusing the scenery one day I noticed the items on the menuet to be quite blistery. The thorns trickled with blood and glistened as it fell. Careful to not gain the attention of of would be attackers, I hopped over the fence only to be pushed aside by the anestrus of a much more colorful person than I.

If in the hollow of man, such a feat is looked upon as normal as any man could do, then shudder the facts as they hit the floor with such a magnitude that the heaven above shall know new boundaries. This truth I bare, is not for me, but for you; so that you can hold the cup in your bosom like none before.

Don't scorn me with your tales, I will not have it. I will not. For my fare is heavy and only I can carry it.

Do not fret. I have been here before. I know this limits and I know what awaits.

Soon I will be with you all; soon I will join the fray.

What is H/T?

I thought it meant either hostage taker(1), hat trick(2), or hat tip(3). It also seems that most people who use this abbreviation don't really know what is means.

If (one) then you are a bad guy.
If (two) then you just did three successful attempts of something, usually in sports.
If (three) then you just acknowledged someone, similar to the saluting of officers of higher ranks in the military.

There probably are more meanings to this H-T phenomenon but no seems to be the wiser.

I am Not an Obama Fan

I am trying to not be too political here but, the Obama family just pisses me off. Here is an article about him wanting to bomb one of our allies: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291982,00.html

And while I know the following link is to another blog, there are several good links of supporting evidence : http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/02/oops-she-did-it-again-michelle-obamas.html

And what is this all about: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,337308,00.html

It seems to me in my opinion that everytime I see this guy in the news there is more stuff that I don't want in a President.

U-Tube and Other Stuff

In an effort to be "hip" and not be "whack" to anyone, I have posted some crap on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/wyldth1ng

I am still working on the embed idea, but some of these videos are pretty big so I didn't want to slow down the page load too much.

I also added a favorites section on the side bar, not your favorites but mine. Each had some quality that I still enjoy today, some of my opinions have changed but the posts are still awesome.

Share and Share Alike

While on leave, I went to my high school that I graduated from to visit one of my history teachers. This guy is probably one of the biggest reasons why I enjoy history as much as I do. He had made the class fun and interesting and the world did not seem as scary. Well, my thinking was he and maybe his class would be interested in maybe five or ten minutes of information about the last year of my life. I am thinking this would be a great opportunity for a history class.

I never made it, to see him or any class at my high school, and this is why:

I went to the high school office and upon entering I had told the secretary my intentions her reply was, " You cannot see anyone in the high school, especially a teacher, without an appointment." I then replied with, " This is the last weekday I am in town, couldn't I go in between periods and catch him and ask if he had some time of about ten minutes?" Her reply was frank and coarse, "No. "

I am a person that does not give up easily so I attempted to see someone else that was free in the administration since this rule did not seem to apply. And I was able to stay a little longer while I talked to the guidance counselor who was once once of my math teachers. (Another good teacher that made me enjoy math.) While I talked to her, I still attempt to see any class and talk with any of the "Good" teachers, but my attempts were futile. I even talked to the new and current principal, who in my opinion is very timid. (Which that seems funny, because everyone else I talked to said she rules with an iron fist.)

I did have a great conversation with my old math teacher, but a nary a student. Is my first hand experience in a situation that boring, that I couldn't be seen? The biggest excuse I was given is that there is too much disruption of the class time to see any visitors. I am just missing the point that these people were trying to tell me. I cannot figure it out. Also, you must also realize that I have visited the school before with teachers and students, once after I came back from Kosovo and a time after when I went to Zaire. (Zaire does not exist anymore, so don't bother looking it up.) Both of those times, I received a warm welcome and was told to come back more often. I even was a pen pal to one of the classes while I was Albania.

I just don't get it. The opportunity was there, but I was met with an iron gate.
